Marvel Studios Debuts New Trailer for 'Deadpool & Wolverine'

Marvel Studios unveils the exciting new trailer for 'Deadpool & Wolverine'. Catch a glimpse of the action-packed adventure!

Marvel Studios has released a new trailer for the highly anticipated film “Deadpool and Wolverine,” the third installment in the “Deadpool” series and the first set in the Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU). The trailer features Ryan Reynolds’ Deadpool and Hugh Jackman’s Wolverine, whom fans last saw in 2017’s “Logan.” The movie sees Deadpool arriving in the MCU after being kidnapped by the Time Variance Authority, as seen in “Loki,” and finding himself in the same world as the Avengers.

Trailer Highlights and Record-Breaking Views

The trailer showcases the iconic duo fighting and bantering, with scenes set to Madonna’s “Like a Prayer.” Deadpool and Wolverine engage in a heated exchange, resulting in Wolverine striking Deadpool’s crotch with his claws and Deadpool shooting Wolverine several times in the torso. The trailer also shows the two heroes having lunch together, with Deadpool asking Wolverine about his haunting past.

“Deadpool and Wolverine” marks the introduction of these beloved characters to the MCU, nearly six years after the release of “Deadpool 2.” The film’s first trailer, which debuted during the Super Bowl, broke the record for the most-viewed movie trailer within 24 hours, garnering 365 million total views.

Shawn Levy directs the film, which also stars Emma Corrin, Morena Baccarin, Rob Delaney, Leslie Uggams, Karan Soni, and Matthew Macfadyen.

R-Rated Content and Shift from PG-13 MCU

The new red band trailer showcases the R-rated nature of the film, featuring multiple F-bombs and adult humor. The shift from the PG-13 MCU is evident throughout the trailer, with Deadpool proclaiming, “Your little cinematic universe is about to change forever … I’m the Messiah. I … am … Marvel Jesus.”

In addition to the explicit language, the trailer includes sexual references, bloody mayhem, and a discussion about cocaine between Deadpool and his close friend Blind Al (Leslie Uggams).

Marvel Studios' First R-Rated Film

Ryan Reynolds shared that getting Hugh Jackman to return as Wolverine “took seven years and a lot of begging.” The actor also posted the post-credits scene from “Deadpool 2,” which hinted at Deadpool and Wolverine’s future team-up.

Marvel Studios’ “Deadpool & Wolverine” is set to deliver the ultimate team-up throwdown on July 26, marking the studio’s first R-rated film. Marvel boss Kevin Feige teased the project at CinemaCon earlier this month, embracing the R-rating by using some explicit language himself.
