XDefiant, Ubisoft’s highly anticipated free-to-play arcade shooter, has finally launched on PS5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC through Ubisoft Connect. The game offers five unique factions, 14 maps, and 24 weapons with 44 attachments, providing players with a variety of options to customize their playstyle. Despite the excitement surrounding the launch, many players have encountered server issues, with some unable to find matches.
Game Modes and Factions
XDefiant features five game modes divided into two categories: Arena and Linear. Arena modes include Occupy, Domination, and HotShot, while Linear modes consist of Escort and Zone Control. Each mode offers a unique objective and requires different strategies to achieve victory.
Players can choose from five factions, each inspired by a different Ubisoft game and granting unique passive buffs, active abilities, and Ultra abilities. The Cleaners are an aggressive, incendiary faction, while Echelon excels at stealth. Phantoms function best as aggressive defenders, and Libertad provides excellent support. DedSec, a faction that can be unlocked through in-game challenges, specializes in creating chaos and turning enemy gadgets against them.
Loadouts and Customization
Loadouts are another crucial aspect of XDefiant, allowing players to select preset options or build personalized weapon loadouts suited to different situations. Primary weapons include Assault Rifles, SMGs, LMGs, Marksman Rifles, Sniper Rifles, and Shotguns, while Pistols serve as secondary weapons.
Players can unlock attachments for their weapons by gaining weapon XP through usage. With 44 attachment options across six categories, including Barrels, Front Rail, Optics, Magazines, Rear Grip, and Stock, players have ample opportunities to customize their weapons to suit their playstyle.
