Londoners in Store for Warm but Wet Conditions This Weekend

Expect warm conditions with rain this weekend in London. Perfect for indoor and covered outdoor activities!

Residents of London and surrounding areas can expect a mix of warm temperatures and wet conditions this weekend, according to the latest weather forecasts. A low-pressure system tracking into the Great Lakes region will bring rain and the risk of thunderstorms, potentially putting a damper on or delaying some outdoor plans.

Saturday: Cloudy with Chance of Showers and Thunderstorms

Saturday will start off cloudy with a high of 25 degrees Celsius, feeling like 30 with the humidity. There is a 40 percent chance of showers late in the evening and overnight, with a risk of thunderstorms. Winds will be from the southeast at 20 km/h, gusting to 40.

The low temperature will be 14 degrees Celsius. Any plans across the Greater Toronto Area (GTA) should go off without a hitch as conditions remain dry but cloudy throughout the day. It’s a short-lived reprieve, though, as a warm front will roll into southern Ontario, bringing the risk for isolated thunderstorms.

Sunday: Cloudy with Showers Likely

Sunday will bring more cloudy and rainy weather, with a 60 percent chance of showers and a high of 20 degrees Celsius. Showers and a risk for thunderstorms will return through the mid-afternoon hours for the GTA and areas west. Showers will linger into the evening for eastern Ontario.

For the most part, the heaviest rainfall will stay to the north around Sault Ste. Marie and Sudbury, where it is much needed. The cold front associated with the low is expected to bring scattered thunderstorms towards northern regions through the evening and overnight period.

Wet Conditions to Continue into Next Week

The wet conditions are expected to continue into next week, with a mix of sun and cloud and a 40 percent chance of showers on Wednesday, and cloudy conditions with a 40 percent chance of showers on Thursday. Monday will be sunny with a high of 22 degrees Celsius, while Tuesday will see a mix of sun and cloud with a high of 22 degrees Celsius.

Londoners are advised to stay weather-aware and plan accordingly for the warm but wet conditions over the weekend and into next week. While the wet weather may put a damper on some outdoor plans, it is not expected to be a complete washout.
