Verizon customers, act now to claim your part of the $100M settlement. Limited time remaining! Don't miss out on your opportunity for compensation.

Verizon customers who were charged an undisclosed “administrative charge” between January 1, 2016, and November 8, 2023, have only a few weeks left to claim their piece of a $100 million settlement. The telecommunications giant was sued in a class action lawsuit filed in New Jersey last December, which argued that the alleged fees were “deceptive” and distributed in an “unfair manner.” Although Verizon did not admit any wrongdoing, the company agreed to settle the case for $100 million.

Eligibility and Filing a Claim

Eligible Verizon customers should have received an email or a letter through the mail that includes a claim form to fill out and file. The form can also be accessed through the settlement website and filed online, or printed and mailed back to the settlement administrator. The deadline to submit the claim form is April 15, 2024.

Claimants who opt-in cannot sue Verizon in the future over the administrative charge issue. Those who do nothing will not receive payment and give up the right to sue Verizon about problems noted in the lawsuit in the future. The deadline for those who preferred to opt out of the lawsuit passed on February 20.

The administrative fee will continue to be charged in some cases, but adjustments will be made to Verizon’s customer agreement to clarify the reasoning behind the charge. Verizon spokesperson Rich Young defended the company’s actions, stating that the charge is clearly identified and described multiple times during the sales transaction, marketing, contracts, and billing.

Payment Amount and Distribution

The final amount an eligible claimant would receive from the settlement depends on how long they were a Verizon customer, with an estimate of about $100 per claimant. Payments are expected to be sent out by the end of 2024.

Verizon maintains that the administrative charge helps the company recover certain regulatory compliance and network-related costs. Despite this, the settlement will proceed, and eligible customers have a limited time to claim their portion of the $100 million pot.

Act Now to Claim Your Share of the Settlement

The Verizon class action lawsuit settlement offers eligible customers the opportunity to receive compensation for undisclosed administrative charges. With only a few weeks left to file a claim, affected Verizon customers should act quickly to ensure they do not miss out on their piece of the settlement.

As the April 15, 2024 deadline approaches, it is crucial for eligible Verizon customers to carefully review the settlement details and submit their claim forms in a timely manner. By doing so, they can hold Verizon accountable for the alleged deceptive practices and receive the compensation they deserve.
